I suggest you look at this with the magnifier if you have time and you'll see what caught my eye - a perfect little zipper pattern on this chrysalis. I have never seen this type before. And sadly I'll never know what butterfly or moth was about to emerge. Because, if you do take the time to look at the enlarged version, you'll see a droplet of moisture on the tip and a black hole on the left where something, probably a wasp, has attacked the developing pupa. Amazing when seen enlarged. Keep an eye out for butterflies because it may not be the only chrysalis in your garden. Great shot and description.
