Willy Wagtail by ubobohobo

Willy Wagtail

This little bird is a member of the fantail family. He can expand that white eyebrow of his to make himself look quite fearsome. Willie Wagtails love to perch on the cattle and look so comical skipping up and down the back of the big bulls and resting on top of their heads. They do this to capture the insects disturbed as the bulls feed. This little fellow (they are only about 20cm long)was having a busy time yesterday trying to boss the dog from coming into his territory while I was filming the bulls dozing in the sun.
He has a domineering look and will probably be the way he really is on the back of cattle! Neat catch of him!

This is such a nice, close-up view of the interesting bird. It amazes me how ecosystems develop and adjust.
