Mother hens are fascinating to watch teaching the little ones to hunt. They come first all the time until she considers them educated. Then it's an abrupt and brutal, "Good bye. Now go fend for yourselves."

Enchanting fluffy bums! Birds do throw their young out of the nest when they have learnt all the tricks. Sure that we don't!
