My friend and I are doing battle with the council. Our QCWA Hall is over 100 years old and badly in need of some TLC if it's to stand for another 100 years. However a few years ago they gave it a heritage listing. Now we are having to jump through hoops with extraordinary fees attached at every turn, just to gain permission to replace like for like. God help us if we had planned to make any changes to the structure. The mind bogles at what would have been involved. This little gate was built many years ago by one of the husbands to stop our little children going downstairs during meetings.
