Yesterday I completed my first week's worth of photos. I'm fairly pleased with my progress so far, despite it being early days. What's nice is the number of people supporting me, asking me what photo I've taken for the day, suggesting interesting things to take photos of or offering constructive criticism. Please keep it up and please follow me, and don't forget to add your comments below each entry. The more people that read or ask about my project, the more dedicated I become.
I went to the Ruddington Heritage Centre today during my lunch break, and was convinced I'd find something of visual interest. I took quite a few photos of the trains and the surrounding paraphernalia, and today I have settled on a picture of a breakdown crane for steam trains.
Apparently this is an LNER Cowans Sheldon 45-tonne Steam Rail Crane (according to the Heritage Centre's Wikipedia page). After getting back to the office, I was concerned that the picture above and my others weren't up to scratch. I was disappointed with my output considering the number of snaps I had taken, and almost selected what was frankly a boring picture; but after improving the lighting and detail of this picture, I am pleasantly surprised.
Today was the first time during this project that I wished I had my D-SLR with me. I'll think I'll go back to the Heritage Centre another day with my kit. Considering I haven't used it since the first day's photo I should use it more, but it is still early days. I'm hoping to use my D-SLR at some point soon to take some snaps of people I know. Please volunteer if you'd like to model for me!
