I love tea. It's my favourite drink. I'm a creature of habit, and my last cuppa for the day is usually drunk at around 9ish. I think it's a comfort thing; drinking tea figuratively (and of course physically) makes me warm inside, and winds me down for the day. Tea is always nice drunk alone, but is even better in the company of a loved one.
I'm not sure how much Suman enjoyed this evening's cup of tea though with a tripod towering above her! This has been cropped quite heavily. Obviously I converted it to monochrome too, because I like the contrast between the white cup and the black background.
For this picture I used my 50mm at its highest aperture. I love this lens because you can stop it down to f/1.8, but it is rather frustrating using it on a cropped sensor such as Canon's 450D. 50mm is the equivalent of an 80mm on my camera, meaning you have to get rather far away to frame subjects wider. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I want a new lens!

I love your perspective. I have also considered the 50mm, but was also thinking about the effective 80mm, and I was currenlty feeling that this would not be that great. Do you find your always 'backing up' to frame shots well with this lens, or are you pretty happy with it? Thanks!
