I wanted to capture something decent for my maiden 7D shot. The temperature is currently back to average December levels, so I thought I'd wait until late and get a few night shots. I had in mind a local tram stop that has an interesting red bridge next to it.
I left it until quite late tonight hoping that no trams will stop by. Trust my luck; as soon as I set up my tripod and camera and took a couple of shots, a tram stopped and lots of people got off to go home after a Friday night out in town. Luckily I got this shot just before some drunk youngsters asked why I had a camera with me and if I could take a few shots of them.
If you look closely, the red bridge is on the right of the photo. It's not well lit so my objective of using it as a focal point was not entirely successful, but I quite like this shot anyway. I wanted to try my new 15-85mm lens but the scenery lent itself to using my ultra-wide 10-22mm lens.
I just want to take my new 7D with me everywhere. I took it to work today despite not really having anything to shoot, and I will probably take it with me in to town tomorrow despite having a busy day planned. On Sunday I plan on going on a proper shoot at Wollaton Hall, a local Elizabethan mansion set in a quite vast park. Should be fun!
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
