I have tried to photograph these bullrushes before but they were never in the sun. Today brilliant sunshine!!!
They are in a ditch alongside a busy roundabout that leads onto where a motorway and major A-road join. So very polluted air. These rushes are just outside a coastal SSI and at the moment are in the process of turning into the cotton wool phase. I was nearly knocked over by a few cyclist who appeared to think the pavement was for them (oh hang on it's a cycleway shared with pedestrians!).
I Googled bullrushes to check that they are reeds and THEY ARE so this is entered for another August word!!!
Bullrushes are so beautiful. They have yet to come out here. Well done for capturing them especially in difficult circumstances!! Glad you weren't run over!
