Hi Jackie,
Tx for my assignment! Your pix look amazing and it was tough thinking up a theme you hadn't already covered! So hope this is not a stretch! Here goes: "odd couple". Cheers!
I wouldn't mind these!! Really like your composition with the negative space. I don't know how to get pure white either - hoping someone will tell you and I can learn!
@megpicatilly I hope to crack it by December!! Only ever managed white in sunlight and then post processed!! @jmdspeedy What's a daylight reading light? No didn't use flash as it was reflecting off lens and white card.
set your exposure to half a second. see what comes out. or a full second. but you need to use a tripod or set your camera on a firm surface. but you might still need to tweak it post. can you try? also you can adjust your D-lighting after the shot. in nikon we have a "retouch" feature that you can tweak the light, crop, etc. does your camera has that feature?
@kjarn thank you! @summerfield Vikki, wish I'd read this before I played this morning, but managed to work all this out today for myself by experimenting with aperture and exposure time using tripod and remote shutter release. Only retouching on today's is to remove all the spots of grit and dust and c**p on the sensor. Yesssssssssssssssss!!!
Thanks for your advice my 365 friend!! @megpicatilly try out what Vikki advises.
I think, re the white it's because the camera trys to turn all colours to 18% grey, so if you slightly overexpose the image (no auto iso setting to do this) that should solve it for you x

(You could easily whiten/lighten it in Lightroom while leaving the glasses colour untouched.)
