Swan at Sunrise by 30pics4jackiesdiamond

Swan at Sunrise

My day off! He's off out so normal wake-up time.

Sun peeped over the horizon as He left so quickly dressed and drove to the foreshore to watch the sunrise through the view finder.

The sea was golden, the ground white with frost and the sky lined with pretty contrails. A young swan paddled into the sunlight and this is the only decent shot I got of her.

Might go back to bed now, but have heard that there's kingfishers nearby so might brush my hair, clean my teeth and go out again in a while.
That is really beautiful

With the ripples reflecting on her neck, she looks almost ghostly! Lovely pic!

Hi partner! Your challenge this week is to do a white on white image. I noticed earlier this month you mentioned you were having trouble getting a true white in your photograph. For this challenge you will want to pay attention to your lighting, as well as your white balance. Here are a couple of lighting videos that might help with the lighting: http://learnmyshot.com/how-to-photograph-white-still-life-on-white-background/
and http://www.diyphotography.net/photograph-white-background-using-two-lights-plus-useful-bonus-editing-tip/
I noticed that you use several different cameras. If you try this with one of your Pentax cameras, it will help if you set your white balance, rather than using the automatic white balance. I did find on line manuals to the two Pentax cameras I noticed you used recently, and both allow you to set your white balance, so you can check your manual on how to do this. http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/man-pdf/k100d.pdf http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/man-pdf/k-50.pdf
White balance was also a camera technique challenge a while ago which can be reviewed here:' http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/25605/camera-settings-challenge-2015-white-balance
I struggle with white on white, but that's because I struggle with composing a still life, so if you think you'd prefer a different challenge, just let me know and I'll set another. If you're up for it, though, white on white images do have wonderful simplicity and elegance.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I'm sorry. I also considered challenging you to try a forced perspective photograph. Would you rather do that?
January 22nd, 2017
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I'm flooding your feed! How about I make it your choice ... either the white on white or a forced perspective, whichever you choose.
January 22nd, 2017
@aecasey as you did so much research for me I'll do white on white, thank you ;)
