Kali set a brilliant challenge as ever! She challenged me to do a hand colouring of a black and white photo this week. I have a couple of hand coloured photographs of my parents in an album I compiled for their silver wedding anniversary. I therefore set out to replicate the one of my mum, but there is at least a 50 year age difference!!
Challenges? Using Affinity to paint myself digitally, mixing the colours and using the brushes.
@kali66 well that was fun.................................... i learnt a new Affinity skill and now just need to hone that skill. Good fun thank you. I'm going to have another go with more vibrant colours!!
Wow, your hair looks amazing! Sounds complicated. I really must get the Affinity Workbook out and start to learn something! I am a redhead by birth, faded now I am older. Redheads are cool IMHO!

Did you pick colours from your Mother's photo for skin and hair? i just thought of it .... well done with the pose so similar and you look a little pale but you have made it look lifelike. now go wild!
@kali66 I look like a zombie!!!! So blotchy!! I need to learn brush control, but only found brush button today! I'm going to do a still life and Andy Warhol it!!!
Great response to the challenge! You did an awesome job with the hand coloring, and recreation of your mom’s pose. I do find the purple eyebrows a bit unsettling though. At least that’s the way they look on my screen. 🤔
