Just before we left our holiday barn I took a short, very soggy underfoot, photographic journey to show you behind the gate of the walled garden that featured in yesterday's scene.
Back in the day I would have been saddened to see how overgrown, neglected and ramshackled the garden has become. However it is a perfect scene of rewilding.
Nettles have taken over the neat, raised vegetable bed, the fruit bushes have spread, the lichen on the apple trees is thriving and the insects having a fabulous time - even today in the rain.
Beautiful collection. I love how you prolonged the mystery of what’s behind the door. It has it’s own kind of beauty. I love the closeup you included as well.
I love how your collage progresses through the journey for us. I feel like there were so many more photographic opportunities in this somewhat neglected space than there would have been had it been kept up
Lovely collage of the secret garden. The only thing I don't like about wild and free are nettles. I can still feel the pain of being stung by them as a child. Luckily we don't see them here where I now live but we have lots of other dangerous plants and wildlife to take the place of nettles though. ha ha
