Wooden Bobbins

@salsa wrote 'As your get pushed challenge partner this week my challenge to you is to take an abstract shot with texture as the main component. I hope that you are happy with the challenge, if not I will dream up something else for you.'
So I Googled abstract photography and it seems it's very macroish - you get so close you don't get to see the whole object
After photographing swaying grasses in a cathedral's gardens I spotted these in the town and took a dozen shots. Chose this one because it shows the smoothness, dents and the grain.
@salza I'm quite pleased with this as they look a bit like mushrooms and I didn't have a lot of space, time or opportunity to compose the bobbins.

This is just perfect! Love the texture and definitely fits the abstract bill! Super answer to the challenge.

@salza thank you so much, I'm definately seeing the world differently when camera in hand. Wouldn't have noticed these 6 months ago, never mind setting camera to AV mode and doing +0.5 on Fstop and using flash!!!!
@quietpurplehaze thanks

@30pics4jackiesdiamond have you considered using a wider aperture, something around f/3.5 or f/4?

I thought it was on 3.8 not 38. ( smaller number bigger hole!) Duh!!!! @salza new glasses perhaps or greater care!?
