A Firey South African Red Wine

BBQs are overrated in my opinion, but cooking indoors and then eating al fresco with chiminea blazing is acceptable.

I've been alcohol free for a couple of weeks to see if there is a link between booze and painful bones and it appears that there is! Things we do for a good photo eh?!
Sounds like a perfect Sunday evening to me Jackie! However alcohol and me do not go together, so a glass of "pretend" wine does me well. Nice shot though, love the reflections of the fire in the glass........

It looks so inviting - both the wine and the fire. I do have to disagree with you though when it comes to having a braai (BBQ), such a quintessential South African past time.

We don't bbq very often either, my OH just doesn't get it! I stopped drinking for a myriad of reasons nearly 3 years ago, and it was absolutely the best thing I've ever done for myself.

Nice warming shot! Ray doesn't 'get' BBQs. My sugar-free experiment is 3 weeks old now and it's nothing short of miraculous. I do have a glass of wine still so I guess my experiment is classed as almost sugar free.

I'm not a BBQ fan either; I must have been offered too many a burnt sausage in the past. My experiment is no added salt, and I'm getting used to it. So between us, foregoing alcohol, sugar and salt should make us immortal. I hope life won't be too dull though.
Great image bye the way!

Couldn't live without our barbies - they are very aussie. And that's very bad news about the wine and you! Great photo.

The experiment is only for me! I even make them cake. Sugar might as well be poison now as far as I am concerned. It's amazing to walk without pain.

@quietpurplehaze oooh, wonder if I should go try that? Perhaps it's not alcohol but sugar!!!

I'm convinced - and the result was quick. I do still have orange juice at breakfast and a glass of wine most evenings with dinner (some sugar in these of course) but no pies, puddings, cake, biscuits, chocolate..... For snacks I have cheese scones, bread sticks, nuts, crisps, cheese straws.
