Maggot

Took down the bird box that the tree bees had colonised and took it apart to see what they had left behind. Most disappointed to find no hexagonal cells but rounded empty balls crawling with maggots.
Ugh - but a great macro.

So weird!! Did the bees build those do you think?? Are the little black spots maggot poo? Wonder what happened to the bees?

@farmreporter who knew they had little hairs- I love my macro converter filters!! Still had to get quite close though
