How Did Those Starbursts Happen??

I was inspired by Richard's dark shot https://365project.org/vignouse/365/2018-09-12 and looked at his exif details and asked him how he got such a clear noiseless photo.

I decided to pop out and play with the ISO lovels to see when noise happened for me. I didn't take into account the light pollution from the nearby cities, reflecting off the low clouds are milky, I have no idea how those starbursts happened.

It's sooc, 50mm and uneditted.Thank you @vignouse for taking the time to answer my question. In the words of Monsiour et Madame S. Best on Black!
Lovely and cool starbursts

Looks awesome on black! This is a technically perfect shot (in my humble opinion) as well as being so artistic and well composed.

It's because you used f22. You might find this explanation interesting: https://www.slrlounge.com/diffraction-aperture-and-starburst-effects/

Lovely shot, I really like it. The sky is almost like a watercolour.

They look great! I got a star burst taking a photo in cornwall (at an ancient monument at sunset) it came out really well by accident and then I just couldn't repeat it!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond ah, mine was just a phone shot (big camera battery died) so on auto anyway, but it just wouldn't do it twice! Now I know though.
