My Very Dodgy Pottery Throwdown Efforts

@narayani will appreciate the effort that went into making these very wonky pots. We prepared 8 balls of 1lb clay and I had a throw and play. Such fun, and am so pleased my many failures could be recycled. Decided we would keep my 'best two' and I'm going back next week to glaze them after Liz has turned and fired them. The three at the rear are Liz's!!
I think they are really cool! Well done you

Oh bravo! I don't think they are dodgy at all. What a great thing to try.

They look fabulous.

Well, I for one am very impressed. You continue to amaze me! NOT dodgy.

this front one is really neat - walls very regular. And yes, the fact that the other clay isn't wasted is the benefit of using a natural product!
July 6th, 2022
I agree with @mcsiegle definitely not dodgy.

Dodgy? Wonky? I'd say the opposite!

I see nothing wrong with this one at all! I’m so jealous of the experience. I think the way you composed the shot is fabulous too.

The front one looks passable to me. You could say that wonky adds interest!

those look good - it's the thing I really want to try and learn
July 6th, 2022
To my eye, these don't look "dodgy" at all! I've tried throwing and I know it takes skills!
July 6th, 2022
If this is an early/first attempt for you, they are fantastic! The one at the front is perfect.

@narayani apparantly I centred it well ( and you can't see the area where my long nails nipped it!) This was such fun, but more strenuous than I'd ever imagined, and Liz did take over a few times to rescue it

@Weezilou could get addicted
@shannejw it's not a cheap hobby
@carole_sandford I'm pleased with passable
@grammyn oh Katy it was such a fun way yo spend an afternoon, but we threw away most of my attempts
@will_wooderson that's because you're very kind
@joysabin it is, close up
@anniesue as much as possible is saved, rerolled and used. The cost of running the kiln must be astronomical!!
@mcsiegle it is wonky with character
@wakelys Liz's in the background are, just made in 5 minutes, like watching poetry in motion, then when I tried it.......nightmare. Clay in my hair, on my nose, up the walls, hilarious fun
@ljmanning hope she invites me back........
@casablanca well done my teacher mord like!!!

A lovely pot you should be very proud of it.

that is so cool! artwork is the best when you make it with a personal wonky touch! so, this is awesome!
July 7th, 2022
Great result.. Jackie you can turn your hand at anything.. I agree with many others .. not dodgy or wonky.
July 7th, 2022
You do mean unique pottery, right?
July 7th, 2022
It is so wonderfully imperfect! Lovely shot.
July 7th, 2022
Not dodgy at all, that front one is really good
July 7th, 2022
