The flower is such a pretty colour. If you squish the ladybird between your finger and you have yellow mush on your fingers then it is not native. Not something that I recommend. Because it’s messy. Inhumane and not ladybird friendly.
That’s is an unusual pattern of spots. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that around here in Ontario. A few years ago I did start seeing some more orange coloured ladybugs as well as the usual red ones but none had this pattern.
Well, after saying above, that I hadn't seen this pattern on a ladybug around here, wouldn't you know I was in the garden this afternoon and did see one. I'l try to post a picture of it tomorrow. If they are not native they've invaded here too.
