We took our youngest grandson to the Raptor Foundation who rescue and gives homes to many different raptors and owls that have been injured or bought as pets (I know, right?!?) and then not looked after properly. We saw this lovely Bateleur Eagle flying in the display too. They can change the colour of their face and feet depending on their mood - red is happy apparently!
@olivetreeann Apparently it is quite a common occurrence. This one has some of her wing feathers missing permanently because she was kept in a draughty shed when she was growing and her skin is damaged. So sad
