I was so happy when I came across this x-ing early in the game. I invited a friend with a dog to come walk with us this morning, but she was leaving on a ski trip. Resigned to having my ever-patient husband stroll into view, imagine my delight when we encountered a man and his dog as we arrived! He politely stood aside and gestured for me to take my picture, but took instruction when I asked if he wouldn't also be in the photo.
Whew...*that* came together! (Can't wait to see how many variations on this theme we have and who does the other three choices!)
When you come across the pond, here we mark our crossings with an "X"...for cross,,,hence, "x"-ing. Stick around today...you're likely to see a few variations. I've spotted 3 and I haven't even gone to bed yet!
It really IS a great shot! The framing, the colours - with the green and the little hit of red, the subjects walking towards each other.
Love when photo ops like this come together.
Hi Louise, love the photo to bits :-) Excellent idea for the X.
If I may make a friendly suggestion, I'd try levelling out the horizon in Picasa or something, it's a bit slanting now and that may lead the attention away a bit.
So you spotted this awhile ago...good planning...I guess when you have 26 letters you start looking at everything through an "alphabet lens." Nice idea!
Thanks you all for the nice comments. Raymond's correct, though, I should have caught that off-kilter horizon....I was asleep at the wheel, literally. Having posted this before heading to bed, you left me all these notes as I slept & I'd hate to scuttle them all. Note taken, though, and I'll try not to let it occur again!
Very clever, indeed! Love that you went above and beyond by pulling the hubby into the shot! Ha!
BTW - RE: my Vortex pic....no, they don't seem to allow anyone to photograph inside public buildings anymore...at least here in Chicago's downtown. I suppose it has something to do with terrorism, but it seems like such a shame that we have to live that way now, doesn't it?
