If I ever had a chance for an action shot, today was the day, but it was all coming toward me! Out on our walk, we spotted Mica in the field, so went to the gate to call her. The wind was on our faces, and her back was to us, so she couldn't hear us calling. I waved my arms, and, as her head turned, she looked up, saw us, turned and galloped across to field to see us! What a delightful moment! She not only ate everything we'd brought to feed her, she "chuffled" and followed us as we had to leave her to walk up the road. Don't feel sorry for her there, watching us leave. She's have been a piggy if she could have eaten any more!
And I'm preempting the joker (B.J.) who'd say I should have spelled it, "HAY!"
Heading to the beach tomorrow to see the surf... The hurricane is headed this way. Ken got fresh batteries, and I have a stash of candles. I've been here for two, previously, and I'd just as soon it would fizzle out. Thinking of you, my friends, along the coast!
That second photo looks like Mica is smiling I love it! And WOW I am the first to post that never happens. Now must google the hurricaine didn't know a thing about it
oh my goodness! i LOVE these shots of mica! isn't it just so sweet when the animals we care about are so happy to see us?! the way you described her catching sight of you and turning to run gave me a little lump in my throat! delightful, indeed! i think these are most definitely 'action' shots for the theme! you can see the wind in her mane created by her running towards you!! i agree with andrea, she looks like she is smiling!
another thought--her running to you reminds me of the video of christian the lion. if you haven't seen it, it is a video shot many years ago of a lion two men raised from its youth and then released back to the wild. they went to visit him in africa some time later, and he remembered them! it is so amazing! i'm sure you could search for it on youtube if you've not seen it. so touching!
Aw...she missed you! I'm sure she loved all the munchies! Its wonderful how well the photos express the story you put in your caption! Absolutely wonderful!
Great company, well fed, she is going to miss you when you leave!!! Nice collage that supports your fun story. I am sure it will die down before it gets to you!! Fingers crossed.
what a beautiful horse! i'll keep my fingers crossed about the hurricane... don't get the 365 reaction to exciting things by trying to take shots of it! be careful!
I wondered who'd be affected by the hurrican when I saw it on BBC yesterday and thought about it again when our power went out abruptly (is there any other way :) last night just as I was about to sit down and upload a pic...I went to bed to read by candlelight instead :)
What a great capture Louise, having been away in the corner of the UK called Dorset where all is fields, walks, horses, cows and sheep I certainly understand better your photos to get to see this everyday your very lucky
This is so cool! I get excited when our neighborhood "Foodie" comes running up to us when we're on our walks. I think I'd come out of my skin if we had a horse do the same. Fun shot Louise! I'll be thinking about you as they continue to monitor Earl.
It is so neat to see how Mica recongnizes her friends. I'm sure the treats do help to reinforce that remembrance, but still, he is a beauty. Hope you have a great trip and the weather stays fairly calm for you all.
Oh Louise, I REALLY love this collage. What a beautiful, beautiful horse. And I love the way she is galloping to you, so excited. Hope you make out okay in the hurricane. It's heading our way, too. I live about 30 miles from the ocean.
Great collage! I love horses. They are such intelligent animals. I think you have become as much a part of her daily routine as she has become a part of yours!
All 3 photos are super, put together they make a superb collage. I will want to know if Mica recognizes you next year. Glad you are prepared if Earl decides to visit.
Wow! They come to you when called just like dogs? I did not know that. How cute is that?!!!! You've got some wonderful shots to remember Mica by when it comes time to return home.
Thank you for your kind comments Louise :o) I am so touched by the kind people on this site. You and a few others are like Guardian Angels to the younger ones one here. And I thank you for that. Your words of wisdom, your touching thoughts, You are such a kind lady. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart xXx
Lovely collage featuring Mica, what a beautiful horse! Good luck with the hurricane, please keep safe everyone! So sorry you're not coming to England, but your itinery looks very exciting, especially the new baby part of it : )
What a great collage! Looks like the storm will be far enough away from us...it has started to calm down a bit. Hopefully it will not cause any damage up your way.
well, on the contrary to Clarissa, I'm not a fan of horses, because they tend to growl...yes, growl at me. :p
but this one looks so gorgeous in the photo! It's certainly a lovely action shot, perfect for the theme! It's so great that you all got to give her some goodies, I'm sure she enjoyed that! :D
John Lyons (famous horse trainer) said: "When your horse follows you without being asked, when he rubs his head on yours, and when you look at him and feel a tingle down your spine...you know you are loved." I love this collage! What a special horse! I am so glad you met her!
Mica looks so adorable!!! I don't doubt for a minute you fed her well! It looks to me that you've made another dear friend, Louise! ;-)
Sorry for coming to your page so late! With the moving and all, I realized that I have missed the whole first week of September from everybody's calendar! Now that we are settled in and we got high speed internet I can finally attempt to catch up with 365 (an almost impossible task, but I am sure that you know that ;-) I am absolutely in love with our house and I most of all love the fact that we can walk to places! It feels almost like in Europe! ;-) Tao seems to be enjoying the new surroundings, and he is happy as long as he gets pet and fed ;-) The last couple of days have been very busy, but so exciting at the same time! ;-)
