On our morning walks in the park, squirrels scamper after people along the sidewalks or come running toward them across the lawn. They've become the community's pampered pets! All we do is shake the sack of peanuts and they practically get in line. After that, it's a cinch to get a close-up photo, but I decided to go behind-the-scenes today for the "Before" picture.
I have yet to find a cooperative squirrel around my neck of the woods...I still have to sneak up and pretend to be part of a tree so they will stay still long enough for me to get a photo or 2...this is wonderful!
I see plenty of squirrels when I walk in the morning; They are frolicking with their squirrel buddies but have no interest in making friends with humans. Of course I don't carry treats when I walk which may have something to do with it!

@glyn Ashton is 7.5 mo now, a nice sturdy guy! Can't wait to see him in just a few more weeks in Chicago & they're bringing him up to see us in Nova Scotia soon afterward!
This is adorable. The hundreds of squirrels in my yard are very wild except of course for the one I raised as a baby. I have one who does acrobatics to get to my bird feeder but when someone catches him he takes off.

Louise I have a question...do you know whatever happened to Barb Kilburn. I hope she and her daughter with the baby are alright.
@bruni I have no news of Barb, though I left her a note on one of her photos. Her daughter got married in Oct & she left/stopped posting about that time, I think.
@Weezilou thanks for your reply..wasn't there something about her daughter needing to go to the hospital (after the baby was born) if I remember correctly? will have to reread some of her posts.
