This is further along the walk in the direction the cat was looking, but so unlike my typical subject matter. I'm sneaking up on "architecture"...not my forte... I really like the coloration afforded by this technique. I had many photos I liked so will probably adjust and use more in the days ahead. After taking this picture, we stopped in to see my college roommate and her husband who live along here. When she and I were in school in St Louis, I had no idea where Balboa was. We never imagined we'd live close to one another all these years later! (All four of us went to Washington University, St Louis...a far cry from here on a winter day!)
I like your line about "sneaking up on architecture". I'd have to approach it the same way ... stealthily. What a beautiful day it was when you took this picture — the blue sky, cheery clouds, breeze off the water. Looks like the area could use a little more water.
Thanks for the comment on my rust and lilac pic. Your description was worded so nicely!
There is so much I like about this photo, the row of houses, the clouds, the
lines of the docks, the flags. It's really a lovely capture and so neat that you and your college roommate could connect and live close to one another again.
@dailypix It's been fun through the years. She and her husband have remained good friends of ours, coming to Lunenburg and she & I taking trips together. It was only 4 years after graduation that Ken & I moved here, where they'd been from the outset, so it's been great fun.
check out this memorable day! http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-09-05
@Weezilou that's so special to have remained such good friends, and that you can share many memories together. Thanks for the link to the storm pictures, I even saw I comment I had made on it.
The trick to living on the Island is getting on and off through the traffic.
Peggy and I met when I lived on the Peninsula. We've had a lot of breakfasts on the Bay. Thanks for taking us back!
@malcolm2 Ken and I have remarked, through the years, that it's a beautiful place to hang your hat, but would be a disaster if everyone needed to evacuate suddenly! haha...it's only about half that on any summer afternoon!
