A Spectacular Setting for Ken's "Birthday Eve"! by Weezilou

A Spectacular Setting for Ken's "Birthday Eve"!

This is The Music Center in Los Angeles after we'd seen the musical, Porgy & Bess. Friends called & invited us to join them just the day before...we share a long & lovely/interesting history with them! Since it was a birthday occasion & we won't see them again until December, Ken hired a limo to take us to dinner and the play as driving the LA Freeways at night is to be avoided if possible. It was decadent fun and we had the best time...as you might imagine!

As a friend of mine used to say, "There are no luggage racks on a hearse...", so we splurged with some of the kid's inheritance :)
Awesome shot

A night well worth it the way it sounds, and how did I miss Ken's birthday? Happy Birthday Ken, and many more.

Porgy & Bess will be coming to our 5th Ave theatre on June 11th. Have tickets to see it! Wonderful photo and beautiful setting to celebrate Ken's birthday. I love the people you captured upper left taking photos!

@seattle Ha! If anyone would have noticed that, it would have been you! I saw it as I was putting the image together...the one girl seems to have climbed to a height to be photographed by her friend! You'll love the show...though you'll notice differences from the original. Still, they sang like angels, and it was wonderful! Enjoy & look forward to hearing what you think of it!

I like the drama in the composition on this shot.

This is a great shot, Louise! One of the things I like most about night shots is the way trees are highlighted by light, and the palm trees are so richly illuminated here. And what a great capture of City Hall!

@stray_shooter Thanks Ron! The only other night shot photos I got this (past year) were on Balboa Island at Christmas; no opportunities, so I wasn't going to let this one get away! I was so focused on the fountain as I grabbed it while everyone waited for me, I didn't realize I had City Hall there until I uploaded it! Can't wait to find more...though there's *nothing* like this that I know of in all of Nova Scotia!
