What a pleasure it was to get out of the house for a few hours today! There's a fabulous nursery (I mean *really* fabulou$) in Newport Beach that is always awesome to visit, if only to take pictures! On this day, members of the Botanical Artist's Guild were doing plein air art throughout the area. I think I photographed everyone at work, but at the end of the day, this was the image I liked best (as did Ken). It's somehow representative of the artists and the atmosphere this afternoon.
I'm thinking it would make a nice greeting card to my friends who are artists. Holly will tell me I should turn it into a jigsaw puzzle!
A beautiful springtime painting! I love to watch artists creating beautiful images. My brother was a wonderful artist but his talent for painting did not pass down to me!
This would indeed make an excellent greeting card (and a great jigsaw!) I love the composition and boy, that painting is stunning! You are so lucky to have seen it all :)
@tunia I was totally taken in by the stand with the painting, also, Tunia! The artist, sitting nearby, must have thought I was just photographing the painting, so I showed her this picture; she liked it :)
A jig saw puzzle, a greeting card or just a framed photo would be wonderful with this photo!!! I can never understand how anyone can paint on an easel, I have to have my work laying down flat!! It's a beautiful painting and love all the colors of Spring in it!! FAV!
Wonderful composition and such pretty colors! Speaking of artistic skills - I just posted a pic of your daughter's handiwork (and on Facebook, too) and have been praising her artistic skills to everyone who will listen. I LOVE my how my mom's sweater pal turned out! :-) http://365project.org/Swazzette/365/2016-02-29
I just saw this, Louise, and it's a FAV for me! Such luscious colors, and I can just imagine how fun it was to visit the nursery with this added bit of beauty going on all around you!
