I haven't forgotten 365, not for a minute, and I thank you all who've continued to leave me cheerful notes and comments! So, this morning this little volunteer is my metaphor for what's kept me away. Thanks to never going out without my camera, a couple of groups have asked me to be their photographer this summer. Most recently, I was given a badge that gave me the title of "Official Photographer" so I might attend every venue for Lunenburg's Folk Harbour Festival this past weekend. In other words, it was a license to sit in front rows, walk up to the stage and to take all the photos I could (which is what I'd loved to have done anyway!) The town has venues in at least 8 locations and the programs ran from 10 AM to 11:30 PM ... and then there was an after-hours party for volunteers and entertainers. (That ran until 2 AM!) Bless Ken's heart, he did it all with me! ...Chauffeured me from place to place and went back to locations where I'd left a bag, and once, a camera... In brief, it's been years since I've been that busy having the time of my life!
Monday morning I set to work deleting the unusable and filing the rest into 129 folders that spanned 5 days. When I finally decided to do a tally, I thought I was under 4000 but was amazed to see I'd taken...drum roll...6410 usable pictures and portraits that will tell the story of that amazing weekend! I'm unclear where they'll be posted (well, not ALL of them!) but I know they archive them as this is the festival's 31st year.
And so like my little muse there, Ken and I were two of over 250 volunteers ... and we certainly had our day in the sun!
big fav for this one Louise. I love everying about it. what a marvellous time you must have had and what a huge job going through all those photos. You will have plenty to choose from to fill your 365 quota
It sounds like you have been having some fun!! How great to be in amongst it all. I hope some photos will filter their way here. In the mean time I have 4 sunflowers looking just like this, waiting for just the right moment to bring their sunshine. Knowing my luck it will be right when we go on holiday in a couple of weeks time!!
Such beautiful light in this shot Louise!! Gorgeous bokeh too!! I was just about to write you an email and I thought I would check 365 before I started. Wow you are such busy lady at the moment!! It all sounds very exciting with so much going on!! Wonderful Ken helping you out too - lucky lady!! Fav for this gorgeous image!!
Good grief Louise, no wonder you haven't been around 365. I wondered where you were and hoped all was OK. Great to hear about the photographic fun you've been having, and look forward to seeing some of the shots.
@danette 10:30 & Ken I are just in from the evening's Kitchen Party. I laughed and read your note to him... He said to stay tuned; he may be retiring and you can have his job!
Happy to hear about your wonderful experience Louise! You and Ken are really a special couple! I look forward to see your photos and read your stories...
