I'll See You in my Dreams ...

OK...enjoyed California's sunny day, but I'm ready to return to Lunenburg! Everything I photographed on my first day back home was in my back yard and I've posted it all (many times) before! Maybe it's that Christmas preparations went right past me... my greeting cards we're held hostage by Canada Post...as was a gift sent from a friend in Italy... No decorations, as everything from the kitchen filled my dining room & hallway, and forget making the many and varied Christmas cookies we love!

HOWEVER! I woke this morning and thought, with gratitude, of the many gifts of the season I've already received! A month of snow for many (could there be TOO many?!) photos of everything I love, and the best of husbands who drove me wherever I wanted to go and would stop on a dime! I had 10 days without a kitchen, so everyday we shared meals with friends in town, and they were precious moments to be savoured! I photographed dozens of front door decorations and a multitude of Christmas trees...none of which I'll have to take down and put away! I had a chance encounter with Santa, and we've become (virtual) friends! Even my plane flight to California gave me wonderful views of Manhattan, Chicago, Northern Arizona, many of the sights I could identify and towns below that I'd visited, and the surprise view of Disneyland, the Bonus Treat in the package! When it's suggested that we "Celebrate Christmas All Year", I must say I've had that chance to experience it in the absence of all the trimmings. Some may think I missed the boat...but I think not ♥ : )

What a wonderful narrative Louise! I was with you every step of the way! You were truly spoilt with all the wonderful snow which allowed you to get so many great images! Now back to your wonderful garden in the warmth! I bet all the animals were thrilled to see you back home! How lovely that you will see the family this weekend and be there with them over Christmas! Definitely the best of both worlds! Much love xxx

We have a lobster pot tree in Emsworth, it'a half the size of this and probably will never see snow. It used to have a lobstar on the top of it but the local yobs threw it in the sea.
Have a merry and safe Christmas :)

Fascinating Christmas tree! And your narrative sums up the spirit of Christmas - it's not what decorations you put up, but the people and experiences you encounter which make for a truly wonderful Christmas period :) Merry Christmas!!

I think you have been abl to celebrate all the best of the holiday season...snow, decorations from others, dinners with friends and now home again with family. I sent out all my Christmas cards last Sunday and was upset to hear many local friends have not received them yet! The post office told me they are lost at the main distribution plant. So much for getting them out earlier this year. I hope you got my card and letter, Louise?!?!?

Lovely narrative. You remind me of the old song "count your blessings one by one."

Your narrative is wonderful and I love this Lobster Pot Christmas Tree cover in snow! You are right, we have so much to be thankful for and lucky you for having snow before you came back to California. All in all a wonderful holiday season for you!
