Church Bells by Weezilou

Church Bells

One of the pleasurable summer sounds I enjoy in Lunenburg are the bells being played in the afternoons at St John's Anglican Church.
http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-05-29 It was Ken who suggested today that we go up and take some interior photos. This photo was one of my favorites, and I was delighted to find a video that showed how the bells are played... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b81vzyH8U24 The photo quality is lacking, but after a shaky start, there's a minute of "Amazing Grace".

I've just spent the last hour looking at Lunenburg videos on Youtube. One of my favorites still is one I put together a couple of years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpdUwZ8Gnd8 At point-3:30 you can hear the bells as I walk to the front of the church. This is probably an overload of links, but I think some of you might enjoy seeing this town unfold more than one photo at a time.

A photo of the church interior, seen from the choir loft, is here http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2011-10-03
Thanks for the tour of downtown Lunenburg. I had no idea how big the church was. It is really one of a kind architecturally.

Beautiful shot, the stained glass and detail on the organ is gorgeous. It would be so great to visit Lunenburg sometime.
