Well THAT was fun, dropping Milk and Cookies in front of you yesterday! A couple of you wanted to see my baking results, so here, one of my Pretzel Rolls... I gave half the batch to the neighbors, so I propped just one here, and ours were ready in time for the dinner table!
Different from typical rolls, when these rose, I dropped them in boiling water with baking soda and salt, then cut the tops and baked them. A satisfying substitute when we cant buy them (twisted) now at the zoo!
@salza@wendytel Have you ever bought a large, Hot pretzel at a mall or zoo? This is the same flavor and consistency...just "more bread stuffing" inside! My neighbor sent thanks to say they enjoyed them with butter, but I made them to eat with mustard!
@radiogirl@tunia@joansmor@petaqui Once I found that recipe, I couldn't wait to make them! They met my taste-bud's desire! (Lots of different recipes on Pinterest, where I found mine...)
Oh gosh Louise, that sounds pretty complicated. The result looks very good though. I'm trying out some different things in the kitchen too. I'm going to try to make some ABC (almond, brazil, cashew) nut butter in the Thermomix this afternoon. Very expensive to buy but sounds very easy to make. The nuts aren't cheap, but heaps cheaper than the jars in the supermarkets.
@Weezilou can't say that I have ever. When we visited my brother (who lives in the San Fran Bay area) in 2013 I don't recall having one. We can sometimes buy a pretzel shaped salted bread thing that the store calls a bretzel. I don't know if they are the same as the pretzel you are talking about.
