Birth Announcement: It's Twins!

It seemed forever that the mother sat on her nest, and then, one day I took a picture into the nest and I could see two tiny backs with pin feathers. Today I went out and look how they've grown! After I got my picture I sat a short distance away to wait for the mother to return. When she did, she buzzed and "peeped" all around me, which, while fascinating to watch, I realized I was disturbing her by my presence. I passed on the photo possibility and moved away. I can check in in a few more days...
Okay this is an amazing capture. It's so bright and clear. I've never been able to get a shot of new born birds. Is this in your yard? It's a fav for sure!

@dailypix Yes, in the yard. Hummingbirds build nests there every year, so if I see one flying around a particular area, I go in search of the nest. One year we had one just outside the kitchen window; that was the best!

I meant to add...and maybe others will see the information here, the specks on the branches and leaves are (excuse me)...bird poop. When they were close at hand, we'd watch the babies raise up and shoot out over the nest. When you think about it, what a great way to keep the nest clean! And is that nest not just amazing?! Cat hair and all!

@Weezilou wow that's so cool. What smart little birds knowing how to keep the nest clean. Seeing a nest right outside the kitchen window would have been awesome!

@chard Looking back through these comments, I had to laugh as I read yours again... We just swapped $25 for large bags of birdseed, sunflower seed & peanuts at Walmart! (That didn't cover the marshmallows I forgot to get...and Ken spotted the raccons out back last night!)
