Cream of the Crop! British Columbia Boy's Choir 2014 Canadian Tour
When I find myself despairing of today's younger generation with their electronics, inability to write if it's not "Text Speak",and lack of social graces (because they're mesmerized by video games and their cell phones), I'll stop to think of these youngsters, age 7-19 from the Vancouver Island region. They obviously work hard in a group situation, giving their best and making the most of their God-given singing voices. They're traveling throughout Canada this month, and they sang a memorable performance including some of my favourite Canadian songs.
And at the end of the show, (and this deserves a paragraph of its own!) every youngster was at an exit or not far outside the doors to shake hands and thank the audience for coming! When I commented to one young man of about 11, he said, "It's a tradition to thank everyone for their support and encouragement." Wow... What a lovely 45-year tradition, and I have no doubt that the "over 900 members" who have been a part of this group over the years, are some of Canada's best! "Well Done", to the founder (Donald Forbes) who had the foresight to offer young men this fabulous opportunity!
@mrssmith203 I hesitantly took some video, but no one seemed to object, and they hadn't announced that there would be no photography. I taped nearly all of a couple of my favorites. If I get them up on youtube before long, I'll add the link and let you know,,,they were amazing! (AND, I didn't even mention the 9 members of "Abbotsford Virtuosi" & their awesome director...violinists that gave me goosebumps they played so beautifully! I got my money's worth and then some!
