Sorting through the hundreds of photos I took on Christmas Day, there were so many I liked of excited boys with their Christmas toys. But as I picked my favorites, four rose to the top and I selected 3, not for photo quality, but that there was sincerity in the "gift".
Ashton was so excited to see Frosty! What wonderful memories are in the making that "Daddy would hold him up to feed the squirrel!" (We've taken a break from unwrapping presents , went out back and the kids went for a swim...that was the photo I left out of the "Giving" series...)
Love this...... This is in your yard?? Fun. We "rabbit and chipmunk proofed" our back yard because the rabbits were ruining our grass, eating major areas of it. We had to resod one large area after a two month summer trip one year. I miss the little giuyhs.
@fugitivemoments What a FABULOUS way to turn a phrase! Yes, I, personally, feel so blessed when I commune with "a wild creature" and feel a moment of connection and trust. For such a moment I forget risks, and, to date, have never regretted it!
@aglennc Yep, the back yard Anita. Our Flowering Pear tree in the center of the yard fell down in the last big rain...it was removed before we arrived home. I'm happy that the squirrels and birds are coming to this site close to the kitchen window... (Ken gets fussy about the animals that cause problems in the yard, but I seem to prevail in not deterring their presence!)
@danette LOL! If I had my way (which I no longer do :) We'd open presents at leisure and enjoy each one "in the present"... Last year, when ALL the family was here, we never did finish on Christmas day! It was round two the following day to finish! My daughter, Ashley says it's no longer going to be a two day event...though they did manage to break for a swim... I guess this was the year I had to relinquish "Mom Control"!
@chard She's a piece of work, isn't she?! Ken called me down today, saying she was in the feeder. We stepped out and "Squirrel" dashed off...nice to have more than one, but I wish I had an identifying mark to go by!
