I've come to appreciate the ability and skill of this amazing artist and craftsman! I look at his sculptured features, borne of his Central American lineage, and his ability to create detail in stone has come down through his artistic heritage. I'm so appreciative to have met and hired this team and their work will be central to our home for years to come. Jorge is his name, and I think he's single-handedly cut every piece of the coping, creating straight lines to form the curves around the pool. It's been fascinating to watch the dust rise as the saw cuts through stone, leaving everything covered in powder.
I'm posting this photo "in the minute", and, across the yard, the first beautiful tiles are being placed around the waterline of the pool.
The frosting is being put on the cake... The party is getting underway!
@ethelperry I might have startled him had he looked over his shoulder and seen me right behind him! However, I think they're pretty used to me out there with my camera by now!
@thirdjoe Thanks, Joe and @kwind thank you, too, Kim! You'll all see why we're so delighted with his work when I post a final photo...a collage perhaps!
Louise, this is a great POV. Really shows that he's working and what he is doing. Looks like things are coming along nicely. I do see party central happening there.
@chard Don't we know that! Richard, you couldn't pay me enough to do all the work they've done! Trust me, I couldn't be more appreciative or impressed... these are some fabulous artisans!
Party??? Did you say party???? I have a week off without the boy! christening your new space sounds like a great way to spend a day...or two! ;) Can't wait to see the finished product!
@voiceprintz We party pretty casually...but this is going to be a terrific place to relax... Of course...let us know when we should meet your plane...I think you already know you'd be welcome :)
*chuckling* I know I'd be welcome. In truth, I'll be staying on the North Side. Prolly not too horribly far from your daughter, d-i-l, and grandkids. There will be no swimming in Chicago next week! ;)
I do, however, need to come back to Cali. My first trip was certainly not my last!
I love that area of the city! :) It's not too far from where I'll be. I'm staying near Lawrence and Kimball. I can't imagine I won't have time to stop by and say hello! You might want to warn her when next you Skype! ;)
@voiceprintz She's there Tue, Th and Sat...home with the babes the other days! Funny how I know "nothing" and yet so much about you...and I know Heather would take to you as I have, if only through your photos and words! Make it happen if you can...and I'll (haha) "warn her"! ♥
@voiceprintz ...and I'm in the middle of writing her a note right now! How I'd love to be there... You'll recognize her...everyone tells us we look alike. Of course she's younger and beautiful, but in videos I see we have the same mannerisms. Well...enough details... Every meetup *I* have had has been such a joy. May it be the same for you and Heather :)
A `ve always admire good craftsman`s for there skills. A pity it`s needed last as most things are pre. fab. noway days. Great pic. to show him and his pride of his work .
Sorry , I`ve to miss the party by distance and other circumstances .
