Chicago provides amazing opportunities to see and learn about the history and architects who designed and built this city. On this walking tour, we covered a lot of ground, connecting places with a ride on the L from one spot to the next. Below are river boats that take passengers on an architectural tour as seen from the water. We've taken it at least three times in the past and I always learn something new.
The more you learn about this city, the more these is to love and appreciate. In my opinion, it's a more easily navigable city than NYC. With every visit, I continue to enjoy it more and more.
@francoise You're from Chicago?! If that's the case, we would all have wished you'd come back and joined the group! It was fabulous! Next time? (Yes, I think there WILL be a next time!)
Interesting fog!! Gorgeous shot. I'd love to take that boat's view architectural ride. I like this capture of the bigness of the city. Great composition.
Great shot of the city.
If you realy know me you know I rather afraid of big cities. It scares me as I feel lost in the many. The amount of people that dies every day in those cities is become a statistic number.
@pyrrhula Oh Ferry, without Ken's company and without Taffy making all the arrangements, I might never go there! I fully admire the ladies from the UK that traveled there alone! But with comfort in numbers, it's an easy city to travel in (for the most part!), and the terrible news of shootings tends to be amongst individuals known to the police (I read an interesting news article on the plane) who all seem to want to kill each other! Happily, I can report, we saw none of that while there!
@Weezilou It is n`t that bad I won`t go to it but I prefer less. The problem with news is that you get to much from it . I tell Ina alway`s : News only sells news. the true is often otherwise.
@pyrrhula You're a wise man, Ferry! I don't know if I ever told you I stopped watching ALL television almost 3 years ago. I read very little news, and tell Ken he can share news on a need-to-know basis! It truly made me upset or angry...and I wanted more hours in my day! I'm a happier person now, but I don't know where my extra time is!
