Visiting our daughter who lives in an open wilderness area, we see many hummingbirds at a time. I never cease to be captivated with them, and the opportunity to slow their speed with a camera setting can make it all the more enthralling!
My mother used to tell me "The best things come in small packages"... She may have been thinking of diamonds, but perhaps she was missing the point! Give me hummingbirds any day!
Fabulous capture of this beautiful hummer, Louise! It’s about time for our hummingbirds to return...I put the feeders out this week and I’m keeping a close eye on them. Fav! :-)
Wonderful capture!! They are just the cutest things! A friend has a nest right by her front door and we have such a good time watching the mother. I just love those little feet!
@stownsend@francoise Thanks, ya'll! I love those teensy little feet as well! Once, when reading about hummingbirds, it was noted that they're fully unable to walk on those feel! They use them to cling to branches, and, when sleeping soundly, they've been know to relax and will be left hanging upside down! @gaylewood Can't wait to see your photos, too, Gayle, and thought you'd enjoy the info!
@danette Very short of flamingos at my window, so I "make do" with the odd hummingbirds here and there! (Honestly, they're amazingly cooperative...within any 15 minute span I can always get lots of photos of them!)
@pyrrhula I'm one of the fortunate ones who's seem your beautiful artistry...jewelry and model ships! I know everyone would fave your work if you shared some photos with us! You're an amazing artist!
@radiogirl Thanks, Cathy! That speed seemed just right for capturing a small movement, but showing the beauty of the wings as well. I appreciate your comment!
(I`m now making minimal white relief boxes necklaces. Keeps me home in those cold winter day`s .)
