Missed Opportunity: The Photo that Got Away

Some days are just like that... My daughter was at the wheel & we were on the way to the park with the grand sons. At the base of the hill from her home, in the middle of a huge rose garden stood a deer eating the blossoms.

The baby was crying...

She was in the middle of saying something to her dad who was in the back seat between the kids...

I exclaimed (loudly), "There's a deer in the rose garden!"

She saw it but said she couldn't stop...

...it all went into a downward spiral of frustration...mine & hers...

Later, when we headed back up the hill, there was no deer...and no roses...

You can't just take a picture of "no roses"...

This is about as creative as I could get...

Tomorrow is another day...

And I hear the ducks have returned to the back yard...right on schedule!
We all know that feeling lol

it happens. i think it's worse when you think you caught the perfect one, then get home and find you didn't and no editing will fix it.

Yup, I know that frustration. I looked out my door yesterday and saw a cat running by with a rabbit in its mouth. By the time, I had my camera ready, the cat was gone.

LOL, I totally understand the feeling, but this gave us a good chuckle once we knew what was behind it

Sometimes I just imagine taking the shot that got away and find it helps a little.
