...Granted, I could be accused of cat-napping, but it astounds me that no one seems to walk the streets calling for their pets or posting "Lost" notices... My friend, David, *adores* Fred, but they're leaving for a couple of weeks over Christmas (yes, I was giving them the hard-sell...) Osia thinks I should just bring him to CA...and trust me, it's crossed my mind! Soon, I think I'll get a poster made and tack it to the garage doors "on the street where he lives (we think)"...
Someone needs a lesson in How to Raise a Cat...
I think I could give them some lessons...
Aw, Louise, you've got to bring Fred back to CA with you. A kitty carrier would fit perfectly under the seat in the plane. I couldn't handle leaving the little guy there and then worrying about him all winter.
Frankly, I don't know how you are going to survive the winter knowing that Fred is out there in the cold all by himself pining away for your company, the warmth of your lap, the scallop dinners and the tummy rubs!! I mean look at that.....that's a cat that is right at home feeling safe and secure, content and happy. Yes, I vote for a cat carrier under the seat! That way I get to meet him, too! ;-)))
@panthora@aglennc@chard We need a council meeting... ALL OF YOU know I would carry this cat home on my lap, he's so adorable! I'm seriously going to check to see who the owners actually are...that has to be step one... He did survive fine last winter after some months like this; he's in good shape & I know he has a home to go to. We go through this every summer. I'm the guilty one for making this guy so dependent! I will get help in making the transition...and I'm sure we'll see him again next year... You've all got your hearts in the right places...me, too...makes life difficult sometimes!
Lovely looking cat, does he not go home at all when your there? Cats are great at human sitting and sharing themselves around knowing which side their bread is buttered ( English saying meaning what's best, incase that does not translate). We had a cat adopt us 2 years ago, he smelt of cigarettes and was a bit matted so maybe was not being looked after as he wanted and he moved out. tried to find the owner but nothing so I suppose he is part of our family now.
@lynnz I told Ken, "The folks on 365 think we should take him home with us"...Ken..."That doesn't count..." Me...It's sort of like running off with the neighbor's wife..." Ken..."There's probably less of a penality for that than for stealing a cat!"
...and so it goes... In the end Fred will stay behind, but I'll try to alert his owners and put all my neighbors (all good friends) on the alert if they see him wandering about after dark...
He's been in the neighbourhood for a couple of years at least...seen on the street behind us by all who know Fred...and he's in great shape. We've seen a few strays in years past...they don't look anywhere as good as Fred! Trust me Anita, I'm going to see that he's looked after!
I think Fred knows a good home when he sees one. I am guessing he is a good Freddy the Freeloader with a heart! I am with you Louise, find the owner and thank them for the loan! You can see Fred again next year as he will not forget the hand that feeds him!! Love this cat.
