Of the hundreds of photos I took at this "beach", I selected this one because:
I haven't had time to look through them all...
It's representative of what an interesting place this is...
And if you look closely, it has the bubbles Ash was blowing of the boys.
It only struck me this morning why this place is a favourite "beach" but not "a pretty beach", as suggested in the title. We arrived at high tide, but this area remains so shallow for such a far distance, we could literally watch the tide recede, leaving the sand scattered with clams and shells, a perfect place for little boys to run and play!
It looks lovely too me - I would so love to be there right now having a paddle and blowing bubbles! (It's raining here in Britain again, of course!). Hope you're well :-)
@blightygal Always a joy to see old friends revisit! These wonderful clouds came through after a couple rainy days...a lovely "apology" gift! We're all so happy to be back in Nova Scotia and with all the family around us for a couple of weeks! Nothing could rain on my parade in this moment! Thanks and all the best to you, too!
@francoise You nailed it about the toddlers! This beach is a favorite for little ones...shallow and warm because of the dark sand. The scenery all around behind me is stunning, including the grassy marsh areas with piping plovers in the midst!
It would be fun to find those things in the receding tide. I asked my brother if he went to your town when he was in NS. While he didn't remember the names, he said he saw some beautiful towns on the south coast. They really enjoyed their time.
@shepherdmanswife I had to respond to this comment! Coming from Southern California where the beaches are body-to-body, *anything* less would amaze us! Here, there was one other family group when we arrived, and when they left, another family group arrived...that was it! And when the tide retreated, as you see it happening here, we had *al lot* of space to ourselves!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! So often I think the extra albums are overlooked until they pop up like this with a new posting. ...and yes, you'd find this little guy to be very scoopable and huggable! I wish I had more time with the grandkids...they're already growing so fast!
