When I saw this magazine-book on the stands, I was sure I'd capture the interest of a couple of grandkids! Once past Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Brontosaurus, I could hardly pronounce the names! But they knew some of them! And here, Dylan has scooped up his Velociraptor to point out how they have a big, ripping claw on each foot. (It looked remarkably like the feet on the Deinonychus, but you all probably already know that, too, as I did... hahaha!)
Something I found to be especially interesting was that the word, "Dinosaur" wasn't used until the early 1800s! Fascinating stuff!
How wonderful to see you having such a great time learning from the youngsters! Now wait until they start showing you how to use the computer and mobile phones etc - they are streets ahead of us!
@pamknowler LOL indeed! Clearly I was "busy" all afternoon and spent no time at the computer!
When it was bedtime for the boys, I brought my tablet and lay down with them, and we turned pictures into photo art! All I did was show them the steps and they took over! Who needs Paw Patrol when one can "make art"?!
I suppose I should bag it as I'll be hearing little voices again at daybreak! ...hugs!
Brilliant! One of the most fun parts about parenting is the toys and the books you get to play with and read! I love learning new stuff. Looks like you had a ball :) Looking forward to grandchildren when my time comes. I shall have to remember the Deinonychus.....though first I need to either read that book or Google it!!
I dont think I had even heard of a Dinosaur when I was a child it was all dolls and teddybears. Now I get as much fun out of them as my grandchildren. Theyve dug a few up here in Australia too. My favourite is the Australovenator !
of course you know that when a stray t-rex comes and use the pool you cannot "adopt" it just! it might eat all the critters! :-) nice candid of the kids, ken & louise!
