Pre-Kindergarten is under his belt and his class of 11 all graduated with honors.
Cute, but with the inclusion of a party afterward, gifts for everyone, and back home, another party for the extended family, it's little wonder a sense of entitlement is being instilled at each step along the way.
Call me cynical...I thought the little graduation ceremony was very cute and probably plenty enough to give them a sense of pride in accomplishment!
He looks so cute!!I have never heard of anyone doing this kind of celebration for such young children. It seems a bit OTT to me. It follows the way schools must never say anything negative to children these days. They are all successful. It's a shame real life isn't like that.A lovely photo Louise!! Fav!
As soon as you wrote "they all graduated with honors", I could see where you were headed. I actually had a 2nd grader on Friday ask what he was going to get for helping with a task in the library. I told him "the satisfaction of doing the right thing." That shut him up.
I am with you, grandma. It can be all too much. It's kindergarten! He has at least another 16 years of school to go. Expectations and celebrations just get bigger and bigger!
Oh to have a star balloon and my very own bow tie, Mr. Bodhi is supremely happy in that moment. It's hard not to overdo the least little thing these days. Maybe as time goes by the wisdom of your thoughts will be considered as important for Bodhi's success in the real world. And future celebrations will be more appropriate for the achievement at hand. 🤓
