My parents used to take us fishing at various ponds and streams near home. We would pack up the old station wagon with gear and food and head off to spend an evening swatting bugs, wandering around the pond looking for the best spot, and casting our lines. I liked fishing for bass. It doesn't require as much patience as trout fishing, and it was always so exciting when a fish would hit the line. Mostly, though, I loved being outdoors with my family enjoying hotdogs, hamburgers, a bit of evening sun, and the wonder of watching the stars appear after dark.
Sounds a perfect childhood April......my son loves fishing, not so much fly fishing now but when he was younger. Those flies are fascinating & I love to see the different types being made.
