Francesca challenged me to do light trails, and then graciously amended that to include light painting as I didn't have any opportunities for light trails this week. I've been looking for a reason to try the "flashlight in the fluorescent tube guard" light painting, and, without a model, had this pumpkin ghoul stand in. It was a challenge getting a somewhat symmetrical distribution of light movement, as well as keeping all the fascinated cats away from the floating cape of the ghoul. Something I'd like to try with a still human subject if only I could convince someone to be that subject. Took this into Topaz for a bit of texture.
Hi April, I really like this latest challenge which you accomplished - looks interesting and something I will have to look into in the future.
On to your challenge - I reviewed you wonderfully vivid and 'living; portfolio and it is a beautiful collection of things which appear to brighten you day as well as that of the viewer - so alive and full of life and natural beauty,
For your challenge this week, I would like to see something captured which is industrial - gritty and not generally seen as the subject of photography because anyone seeing you snap that picture would say to themselves, “Why?” I have provided a brief description below to get you started - make this your own and give it any personal touch which you feel would catch someone’s attention. Have fun with it and I look forward to your photograph. In the event that you simply cannot do this please let me know and I will have an alternate for you – best of luck April!
Industrial photography can be challenging as it usually involves taking shots of large objects that are difficult to frame. These photographs are generally of products, equipment, machinery, workers, and company officials. These may not be very eye catching by themselves so the photographer will also need to make the photographs enticing. They have to be interesting and attractive so that they capture the attention of the viewers.
@brett101 Thank you Brett ... I will see what I can do. Farming is over, but there is a bit of corn harvest left and the cattle feeding is a daily enterprise so maybe I'll go hang out around the feed yard for a bit and see what I can see. Wish the hay grinder was coming .. that would be cool! Might have to keep that in mind for another time.
