There were grouse in the windbreak just behind the house! I've never seen them this near the yard, nor perched quite so high up in the trees. There were only four, but where there's four, there's more. I wonder if their numbers are growing, or if their range is changing. Regardless, I do enjoy seeing these birds and look forward to seeing more of them this winter.
