Bald eagles, once a rare sight in our area, have made a comeback. This fellow was along side the highway, but took off the minute I slowed down. This is extremely, extremely, extremely cropped. It isn't quite my bucket list shot of a nice, sharp bald eagle profile, but I like that alert pose of his head and I am in awe every time I see one in the wild. I've heard they frequent a few of our local lakes in the winter. It looks like it might be time to go exploring .....

Wow that's incredible that you just see them by the roadside! Birds of prey have increased in numbers in the U.K. as well, we can often see them on our farmland , albeit nothing nearly as exciting as a band eagle!!
@bella_ss This is a great challenge and one I so want to do. We have had a break from the cold \o/ but it cools down again and might be cold enough Thursday morning to try. Unfortunately, it also looks to be quite windy Thursday and I've had a lot of trouble with wind and bubbles. We could see what Thursday brings ...
