I couldn't resist a return trip to the ponds, only this time I brought my 600mm zoom. What did the turtles do today? They all slid off into the water as soon as they noticed me noticing them! However, this big fellow wasn't bothered, and it stayed put. After about an hour, while I was off photographing some birds, some of the turtles returned, including this little one that wanted to share the sun. I was so surprised at their size difference. These are painted turtles, which can live up to 40 years in the wild. It's nice to see them thriving in these ponds.
