This is from yesterday. This morning we are -25F with a windchill of -50F. Blue skies, sunshine, and blowing snow look better from inside than out. I ventured out to feed the barn cats. They were hunkered down and not very interested in eating. The prediction is for another 24 hours of this cold. I'm looking forward to reaching 0F tomorrow.
Hi April. Could I please ask where you live. I converted -50F to -45C. To us that is just mind boggling - we tend to whinge when it gets down to 0C. And, looking at your horses was also interesting - they seem to have very rounded faces and very tiny ears, genetic adaptations to such cold weather? It's a marvellous shot of them.
@robz Hi Rob ... I live in the northwest corner of the panhandle of Nebraska, USA. This kind of cold seems to hit a few times every winter nowadays. It's Arctic air coming down from Canada. The horses are quarter horses. I noticed the roundness of the jaw on the front horse ... I think it's the camera angle.
