If you have any followers from Vermont, Maine or New Hampshire you've just offended them greatly (especially the Vermonters!!) lol. When my Dad moved to Vermont over 25 years ago we were introduced to the REAL Vermont Maple Syrup. After buying the "Vermont Maid" store bought version for so long we were shocked to find out how good it really was when it was REAL- hehe. But we honestly couldn't tell the difference. We also learned that most Vermonters think the Canadian version is a pale knock-off of theirs (and vice versa). This kept us chuckling for quite some time. However when we tried to say we really couldn't tell the difference, we were called "flatlanders" and that seemed to be the reason why we couldn't tell the difference!
Nice shot, Alia! And Yay!!! I guessed right with India! Woohooo!!! I don't know what country this one is, but it's not the best maple syrup around.... You really need to get your hands on some Vermont Maple Syrup. I'll send you some if you'd like. And @olivetreeann is SOOO right! LOL .... It's not REAL maple syrup unless it comes from Vermont trees... Canada's trees are weak and the other US states don't know how to boil it right... And Ann... you live in PA so you technically are a flatlander - even though you have some hills! LOL (j/k... I'd never say that to you in a mean way!)
@olivetreeann@prttblues I'm just going on what the label on my syrup said! (If you look closely you can see the tiny Canadian flag!) :)
I'll look out for any Vermont syrup in the shops...
@prttblues I know Bev- we have laughed about that term quite often. Believe it or not since we are not native Pennsylvanians we are also labeled here in PA. We are called "newbies" here because we were not born here. There are people that have lived here for over 40 years who are still called Newbies! I don't take it as a mean name, so don't worry. We always thought it was funny when the native Vermonters would call us that and we knew they called anyone who did not come from VT. originally that name- even a couple folks from Colorado (whose mountains certainly tower over VT.'s!).
@alia_801 Actually Alia, I think it all tastes good if it comes from the tree, so don't worry about me. Neither VT. or PA. are the states I was born in, so I just enjoy observing the human nature side of it all.
