Today I had the wonderful opportunity (finally) to meet up with the fellow 365ers in my area. There were 8 of us gathered in downtown Cincy. It was so very fun to finally meet these friends, some of whom, I have been conversing with for months...since I've lived in the area.
One of the highlights for me was seeing a wedding party out for their photos. We unintentionally crashed the session just a bit. I was almost like a paparazzi.
What a huge wedding party!! They're "hiding" the bride... does look like a paparazzi type scene. Lol... looks like the photographer is chimping in the back there.
So jealous that you had your own meet-up, how fun! This is a hilarious picture too. Wedding pictures are so odd and contrived sometimes that it is amusing to see the behind-the-scenes.
Photographer's train of thought, "Hmm ... yes, let's put modern people in formal wear in front of the Native American mural. Perfect!" Waahhh?
@archaeofrog I finally planned the meet up so that it would happen. Do you have any 365ers around you? They were walking to their shoot...I liked the background for my photo, though. So colorful and different.
@amandalomonaco No other Madison area 365-ERS yet. Missed this month's camera club meeting, so maybe next month ... I love your shot, it is just extra funny 'cause I was in a conversation this week about the weird places people go for wedding pictures. Does the mural have any actual connection to the couple or did the photographer just think it was cool?
Awesome shot and wedding crashing fun! :) I totally wish I could've been there! :) I bet you all had a BLAST!! :) Love the mural in the back of this! :) Outstanding shot!
How fun to get together with others in your area from this site, Amanda. I am envious as I have no one close by. I love your photo and would expect you to crash wedding photos or whatever you do to take a photo. Too funny.
@cmc1200 It was so much fun, Caryn. Amazing to finally meet some of these friends. I had to hug them! It would have been so cold to have been dressed for a wedding. I was bundled.
@tryeveryday It was amazing to finally meet up with fellow nutty photographers. Do you have any others in your area? I made it happen myself. I was sick of waiting around for it to happen and sick of being jealous of all of the other groups meeting up. So easy to just put up a message and meet. We hope to do it monthly now. Wish you were closer...how far away is Cincy from you?
@ozziehoffy Oh lady, it got worse. We were just feet from them eventually and snapping photos. I think that we ticked them all off a bit. I loved the scene, though, with all of the color here. I guess that's what happens when you get a group of snap happy's together. And yes, it was a huge party!
@skipt07 Thanks, Skip. I loved the colors of the murals. Appreciate your comments.
@maggiemae They were walking to their photos...this was a walkway. I just liked the color. It's like the wedding party was protecting the bride here. Like the bride secret service or something. Thanks, lady. So fun to meet up with other 365ers.
@archaeofrog Nah, they were just walking past it to this awesome bridge.
@nana2r Hopefully not. Well maybe a little. See the above link I added to the description text. It was so fun to be with other photographers and finally meet some friends from here, though.
@tbats22 If only you were in KY, maybe you could come, too. Maybe your next visit? So fun, lady. Thanks!
@emrob Thanks, Mandy. It was great. I loved the wall, too!
@kbalychev Oh so very much fun. Hopefully down the road we can meet in Northern OH sometime!! Thanks, Kimberly!
@darsphotos There are some in Sac. There is a John guy and several friends from my old church, there was a Keith, too. Maybe put up a message on the message board and see if anyone is interested. It was wonderful to meet these friends that I've conversed with for months. I had to hug them!
@seanoneill Big wall, far away, crazy large party. You are funny. Thanks, Sean!
I got the idea that you were all having a great time from Lyn's photo - good for you! Nice paparazzi shot, think you might need one of those great big ugly lenses if you're planning on doing it full time though. ;-)
I know exactly where you are. This is one of my favorite places to go at night and shoot the city. Sounds like you all walked your legs off. Did you go out to eat? I'm so sorry I missed out on it.
@aleksandra Even 4 would be a great group. Hope that you do it and meet up sometime, Aleksandra. It was so wonderful. I just put up a message on here and tagged who I knew was in the area.
@automaticslim Yes, must get a great big ugly lens sometime. I don't know if I want to be a paparazzi. They get run over sometimes. Eeeek! And I don't care much for the stars. Plus you get dirty looks more often that I am used to;-). Thanks, Andy. It was a great time!
@cdonohoue No eating...just shooting. 2 hours passed very quickly. Hope to do this again soon. Maybe in Feb! And we will make sure to figure out how to get you there next time:).
@bardejov It was really cool. Are there others in your area to meet with? I know of one at Flagler College. Thanks, lady!
@hudamor It was a fun location. They were walking to the suspension bridge over the river for their photos...but I loved the murals they were walking by. Thanks, Huda!
@cdonohoue We missed you!:( So sorry that we didn't work out a carpool! Next time. We hope to do it again soon!
