Guess how old, Lucas is today? Like my clever idea for his portrait this year, making his age with his breakfast? See what a good mama I am, I let my kids play with their food if a photo is involved, or bad in that I make him to wait to eat, while I snap some photos;-).
We do donuts every birthday to celebrate. Today we went to the best donut shop in town . The Mapquest directions only got me halfway there and it took me all over town and way longer than I expected to get them. We came home, ate quickly and I got the kids off late to school all sugared up.
I am feeling quite nostalgic today remembering my day 8 years ago when I first met my son, looked into his amazing eyes. This is my anniversary of becoming a mama. I sit and reflect and see how much more rich and full of love my life is now.
And you know what I picked him up for his gift today? A Nikon Coolpix. Training up the next generation of photographers. Can't wait to have photo dates with him:)
Update: The camera was Lucas' favorite gift. Tonight he said, "Mom, maybe you and I can both put photos on 365." That's my boy!:) My heart is happy!!
@jsw0109 No, but those are delicious, too. I don' think that we have one around here (that I know of anyway). Don't you see the 8 he made with them? Not a perfect one, but he was hungry and ready to eat;-). They were from a mom and pop donut shot that is well known here called Holzman's. I wasn't super impressed as they were a bit stale to me. I think that they make them the night before so that is when you can get em fresh.
Wonderful portrait and love all those missing teeth! What a great way to celebrate and commemorate, and can't wait to hear what he thinks of his camera!

@archaeofrog Good point. I was thinking of him setting up his own account and posting once per week. I wonder if there is an age restriction? I'd want to monitor it.
Fantastic Amanda. Great shot, and a belated happy birthday to Lucas. Come on young man, let's get some shots on 365 then. I kno wwhat you mean about momnts of reflection Amanda. I wrote Sam a letter on his 16th birthday about his impact on our life, and what he can look forward too. It is good to look back and remember.
Wonderful birthday portrait, Amanda. My grandson, who turned 10 today, did 365 for awhile. He really had fun with it but then school and sports and life got in the way. I noticed somewhere recently an under18 challenge. Good luck to him.
I'm certainly thinking about it since you mentioned a collage. 36 is a much more convenient number than 26 after all ... 27 isn't bad but where on earth am I likely to find a &?
