I went to the old cartridge factory again near us for some black and white architecture shots for my get pushed challenge. I set the camera in monochome mode for the first time to shoot in b&w specifically. This may be one of my favorite photos in a long time.
I saw the birds flying around and kept trying to shoot them in the scene and finally focused as they were landing on the big pipe. The P is for Peters Cartridge Factory. I love this place and have taken a bunch of shots here so check the tag to see more.
Does this P work for my alphabet? It's not exactly in nature, but you know what? It's my challenge and I say it counts. Here is my pretty P photo:).
@archaeofrog I realized that I've monochomed all month so far. I just may do a bit more! I do like it:)! Thanks so much, Katie. I love it, too. I think that it is a 365 thing. The people on the outside don't seem to "get" it.
What an incredible shot! I love the B&W! So perfect for the challenge and it totally counts for the alphabet! :) there are birds around, so there...nature... it counts :) hehe I really love this one! An insta-FAV! :)
What a nice high key shot! I love the use of negative space in this one, as it makes for great simplicity and focus. Impressive black and white result, you should do more!
@barbsmith Yeah, so glad that you approve. Thanks, lady!:)!!
@kbalychev Shew, so glad that it counts and that you like it a bunch, too. Isn't it great when you have a photo that really speaks to you that others appreciate, too. Thanks, my sweet friend!! Oh and I would love to do your portrait with the lions someday in Heaven. Can't wait!:) And my book...I haven't decided, but I want it to make a positive difference in the world. Hugs!:)
It's absolutely okay with me, Amanda. Beautiful P, love the empty space and the high key. Six letters so far, that is great. Did you see the fantastic alphabet from @filsie65: http://365project.org/filsie65/365/2013-02-28
@helixconcepts A group of us have agreed to try to find the alphabet this year and we are tagging our letters "alpha-2013". At the end of the year, we may do collages of our whole alphabet. Check out the tag and see what we have found. We are each doing it individually, but supporting one another!:) Join us!!:)
@softbootsailer Thank you, Bob. You've seen this place, yes?
@still_beachradish Love your comments, lady. You nail those titles often, too. My favorite of yours to date was "Exit Stage Left." I got a shot of a sledder at the end of last year and titled it "Sledding out of the Frame." Similar feel to Stage Left.
@masosy Thanks so much, Miss Kate! Glad to be done with architecture? I kinda loved it!
@nana2r Oh, Carren...I am jumping around. I started with z, too, ironically. I think that I have z, o, x, p, and h so far. Hope to have everything by the end of the year. Wanna join in and do it, too?
@noragentian I saw and faved that awesome compilation of letters and numbers, Ruth. Thanks for your sweet comments, too!:)
@thirtysevenways I go through spurts I guess. I was doing great for one week in February and the rest of the month was less so. Thanks so much for liking this shot enough to fave. I love this one:)!
Hi Amanda, I had the awful horrid task which I hated immensely of choosing the finalists for the get pushed.
I just wanted to say you kinda only missed out by a flip of a coin
And that I thought this was a terrific shot, it stuck in my head
@gigiz Aw, thank you. I really loved this one, too...but my other made (the gazebo reflected at night) it in so it is all good. Thanks so much for judging it GiGi. I love your work. Your editing skills are amazing!!!
@psychographer Thanks, lady. It's amazing what sharpening an image can do. This was my first time shooting in mono and sharpening. I liked the result a bunch. I just joined a photo club and next month we have to bring in two b&w images. This will be one of mine fore sure:).
@gigiz Not a bimbo:). I think that this one is good, but the other stands a better chance of winning. So glad it worked out. I've done get pushed since the beginning with maybe a month off in there at the holidays and had yet to make the top 5. So glad to be there finally:)!! And this one I plan to use at my next photo club meeting. We are supposed to bring in two b&w images and this is one of them I will bring.
@tonydebont Thanks so much for the comments and the fav, Tony. That means a lot to me:)!!
@phillchilton Really appreciate your comments and fav, Phillip! You are kind:).

@soboy5 I love some good negative space. So pleased as punch when I achieve this. Thanks, Danny!
@archaeofrog It's all in the editing, baby. It was pretty gray and I tweaked the contrast and brightness. Thanks, though:)!
@sadiec Would love to go photo it sometime with you. Thanks, Sadie. This was the place that I got that vine covered window shot a month or so back.
